Karma Kettle's Great Wall Longjing Tea blend draws inspiration from the greatest wonder of the world.

Longjing tea also referred to as dragon well tea, is one of China’s finest teas. Both the picking and crafting processes for this tea are elaborate in order to make sure it retains its high quality and original flavour.

We have combined premium Longjing tea with oriental fruit and herbs to create a tea with nuanced layered flavour notes and a treat to the senses. 


 

Tasting Notes

The Great Wall Longjing Tea has a grassy aroma from the tropical pandan, which gives way to subtle fruit notes. The brew is light coloured and has tasting notes of musk melon (cantaloupe) and lychee. The finish is sweet and succulent.

1. What are the benefits of longjing tea?
Longjing tea contains a high amount of antioxidants, catechins & polyphenols, which promote wellness, stress relief and good health. 

2. What is Longjing tea? 
Longjing tea or Dragon Well Tea  is the most famous Chinese green tea and it has earned the ‘China Famous Tea’ title. It contains vitamin C, amino acids and has one of the highest concentration of catechins among teas. It has a gentle and sweet flavor and a fresh aroma.
Longjing Tea comes in seven grades: SuperiorSpecial, and then 1 through 5. The quality is most apparent after infusion: high quality Longjing teas have tender whole leaves that are all of a similar size, shape and color, while lower quality leaves vary in color from deep green to almost blue

3. Are Longjing and Dragon Well tea the same? 
Yes

4. How to prepare Longjing tea? 
Step 1- Let water boil in an electrical kettle, wait for 2 mnutes after it has reached boiling point
Step 2- In a teapot add 1 teaspoon of Great Wall Longjing tea 
Step 3- Pour water till about 3/4th of the way and  tilt the teapot a bit and rotate, so that the leaves get wet all over. Then add more hot water until the teapot is 90% full.
Step 4: Cover the teapot and let it brew for 2 minutes.  It is ready to drink when most of the leaves have sunk to the bottom of the cup.
Step 5: Remove cover and pour into a teacup to enjoy the tea
Step 6- You can keep refilling water to the teapot at least 2 times
