What is Matcha?
Matcha is a high-grade Japanese green tea that is finely ground into a vibrant powder. Unlike traditionally brewed green tea, matcha is whisked directly into water, allowing you to enjoy the whole tea leaf.
Before harvest, matcha plants are traditionally shaded for around 20–30 days, helping increase chlorophyll and amino acid content while contributing to the tea's characteristic deep green colour and distinctive umami profile.
Our Matcha is imported from Shizuoka, Japan and is 100% stoneground, preserving the vibrant character and fine texture of the tea.
How to Prepare Matcha Berry
- Add 1–2 g (approximately ½–1 tsp) of Matcha Berry to a bowl.
- Add 60–70 ml of hot water at approximately 70–80°C.
- Whisk vigorously using a bamboo matcha whisk until smooth and lightly frothy.
- Enjoy immediately.
Avoid boiling water, as very high temperatures can affect the delicate flavour of matcha.
How to Make an Iced Matcha Berry
- Whisk 1–2 g of Matcha Berry with 30–50 ml of warm water until smooth.
- Fill a glass with ice.
- Add chilled water or milk.
- Pour the prepared matcha over the top and stir well.
For a creamier drink, try it as a Matcha Berry Latte with your choice of milk.
Storage
Once opened, store Matcha Berry in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. This helps preserve its colour, aroma and flavour.
Please Note
The colour of flavoured matcha may vary slightly due to the flavouring used in the matcha powder.
Our culinary-grade matchas are authentic Japanese matcha imported from Japan.
Storage: Once opened, store the matcha in an air tight container in a cool and dry place to preserve the color, vibrancy and taste of matcha.
